I covered most of this in class on Friday, but here are a few bits of information to keep in mind as we head into the week in which our major essay is due.
1. Please bring two printed copies of your essay to class. One should have your name, title, and information of the class on it, and the second should have all identifying information removed, except your Person Number (or ID card number). Each student must submit this copy for the purposes of program-wide writing assessment. Please remember to staple your essays as well.
2. The readings have changed slightly, so please adhere to the following schedule. On Monday, we will talk about the Psalms and Brettler’s Chapter (22). Please focus on Psalms 1, 22, 40, 51, 127, 139, and any others that you find interesting. On Wednesday, we will turn in our final drafts and begin pursuing our final essay project, a collaboratively produced essay. Finally, on Friday there will be no class, as I am out of town, yet again.
3. I’m out of town Monday PM and all day Tuesday as well, so if you have any last-minute questions about your essay, please direct them to me, and please do not try to get lost in the NCAA Final Four fog!
4. When we come back next Monday, we will spend additional time reading the 23rd Psalm and talking about pastoral in Western literature and culture.
